About Amanda

I am currently a Senior at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School and an avid science student. I will be attending Cornell University in Fall of 2026 as a Biological Sciences major. I love learning about human and animal biology and psychology in the form of fun facts. I was selected for the LEAPES program, I am Secretary of the Science Honor Society, and I have been enrolled in the research program for three years. I have participated in the LISC and SAAWA research fairs and have competed in the Long Island Brain Bee and Medical Marvels competitions. I also work at White Post Farms where I help to take care of animals such as giraffes, lorikeets, and goats.

When I'm not involved in school or work, I love spending time debating in Model United Nations, playing percussion in band and helping the program through my Vice President position, and participating in Animal Rescue Club. I also enjoy tutoring students, volunteering at Last Hope Animal Rescue, reading, and playing video games in my spare time.
